Hello,

I’m Waref Abu Quba, a Syrian-German filmmaker and animator based in Germany. I’ve been working in film and animation for over 15 years, exploring ways to blend camera work, animation, and post-production in unique ways.

I started out as a graphic designer after earning a bachelor’s degree in art from Damascus University, but over time, filmmaking became my main focus. I enjoy experimenting, pushing boundaries, and taking on different aspects of the process—directing, shooting, editing, and color correction. Sometimes I work solo, sometimes with a great network of collaborators, depending on what the project needs.
